What We Believe About...

The Scriptures

We believe the entire word of God is inspired by Him (Prophets attest to this, e.g., 2 Sam 23:2-3; Isa 59:21; Jer 1:9, as well as Christ in Matt 5:18; 22:42-43; Mark 12:36; John 10:35; 16:12, and finally the apostles in Luke 10:7; Acts 1:16; 4:24-25; 28:25; 1 Cor 2:13; 14:37; Gal 1:7-8; 1 Thess 4:2, 15; 2 Thess 3:6, 12, 14; 1 Tim 5:18; Heb 3:7; 10:15-16; 2 Pet 1:20-21; 3:16). The Scriptures come to us without error in its original words. Therefore, we believe the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament to be verbally and plenary the inspired Word of God, in the original manuscripts. The Scriptures are inerrant, infallible and God-breathed, and therefore are the final authority for faith and as the sole rule of life and sole revelation of God to man as 2 Timothy 3:16 states.

2 Timothy 3:16 (NIV)  "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,"

Since the entire word (i.e., the sixty-six books of the Bible) of God is inspired, we are committed to teaching the entire counsel of God in the OT and NT.
Since the Scriptures are both "timeless and timely," we believe that its relevance and applicability is for people of all ages and all times. Thus we are committed to teaching the applicability of Scripture in our lives by showing believers how they can put it to work in their lives
(2 Tim 3:16; 2 Pet 1:20-21).
