What We Believe About...

The Security of the Saints

All believers are kept by God's power and are thus secure in Christ forever. Because of the eternal purpose of God toward the objects of His love, because His freedom to exercise grace (unmerited favor) on the ground of the propitiatory blood of Christ, because of the very nature of the divine gift of everlasting life, because of the present and unending intercession and advocacy of Christ in heaven, because of the immutability of the unchangeable covenants of God, because of the regenerating abiding presence of the Holy Spirit in the life of all the saved, those who simply believed/trusted in Christ alone by faith alone will be secure forever.

Nevertheless, we believe that since God is a loving, holy and righteous Father, He does not overlook sin in His children. Therefore, if believers persistently sin, it does not prove they are not saved or lose their salvation (eternal status). Yet, God will chasten believers and correct them in infinite love; but having undertaken to once and for all save and keep them forever, apart from any human merit, He, who cannot fail, will, in the end, present every one of them, who once believed in Christ alone by faith alone, faultless and blameless before the presence of His glory. Thus all believers will be conformed totally to the image of His Son one day (John 5:24; 6:37-38; 10:27-28; 14:16-17; 17:11; Rom 8:1-39; 1 Cor 6:19; Eph 1:14; 4:30; Heb 5:11-6:12; 7:25; 10:19-39; 12:4-11; 1 John 2:1-2; 5:13; 3:2; Jude 24).
